One BJP worker was injured in a clash between two rival groups of the party over hosting a feast at Anandapur area in the south-eastern fringes of the city early on Sunday (August 23, 2026), police said.
A senior police officer said both groups staged a demonstration before Anandapur police station after the clash at Anandapur playground early on Sunday (August 23) morning.
Local BJP leader Arun Biswal alleged that no permission from the party leadership was taken to organise the feast. He also alleged that local fish and mutton traders were subjected to extortion for the feast.
"Those who are behind the feast joined the party after May 4. They took money from traders," Mr. Biswal alleged.
