Delaware beach towns see population surge as tax savings draw new residents

Delaware's coastal communities are popular among new residents seeking beach properties and lower taxes.

More than 40,000 people have relocated to Sussex County since 2020, driving significant population growth.

This influx has led to increased property developments and rising housing prices, making affordable options scarce for local workers.

Residents report challenges accessing healthcare and experiencing heavier beach traffic during the summer.
