The Railway Protection Force (RPF), Mysuru division demonstrated prompt action and vigilance by detecting theft of railway property at Ashokapuram Yard in Mysuru and recovering a passenger’s lost mobile phone under ‘Operation AMANAT’.

During the intervening night of August 26-27, Constable Mujamil Khan noticed a person moving suspiciously at Ashokapuram Yard with an electric motor. He alerted Dinesh Kumar, Post Commander/RPF Post, Mysuru, and pursued the suspect. An RPF team was immediately sent to the spot, and the person was detained.

The person, identified as Ashish (26), a resident of Bihar, was carrying an electric motor valued at about ₹4,000, which was later found to have been taken from a condemned railway coach at Ashokapuram Railway Station.

A case has been registered and further action is being taken as per rules.

On August 27, RPF/Mysuru received information about a passenger leaving a mobile phone behind in Train No. 16021 (Chennai–Mysuru Express) after its arrival in Mysuru station.

Head Constable Rudramurthy searched the coach, and found the mobile phone. Sub-Inspector Namitha A.V. contacted the passenger, and informed her about the phone.

The phone, valued at approximately ₹10,000, was later handed over to K. Jayalakshmi (44), a resident of Chennai, after due verification. The passenger appreciated the prompt assistance provided by RPF/Mysuru.
