Government prioritising development, welfare initiatives in Kurnool, says Bharath

Industries and Commerce Minister T.G. Bharath Gupta said that the NDA government is giving top priority to development and welfare initiatives in Kurnool city while participating in the “Two Years of Trust – Development and Welfare” programme organised by the government at Joharapuram Telugu Geri area in ​​Kurnool.

On the occasion, the Minister visited households to interact with residents and enquire about their issues. He assured the public that problems related to roads, drainage, and other civic amenities were being addressed in a phased manner. The Minister said funds would be sanctioned and works would be undertaken for road construction and other development projects wherever necessary.

Mr. Bharath emphasised that various development works worth crores of rupees were under way in Kurnool city and reiterated that the government’s goal was to provide better infrastructure to the people. He said that the government places equal importance on welfare alongside development.

Highlighting the implementation of welfare schemes such as Anna Canteens, free bus travel, free gas cylinders, and the ‘Thalliki Vandanam’ scheme, Mr. Bharath said the government was continuously striving to understand people’s issues directly and to provide solutions.

Earlier in the morning, the Minister expressed happiness over the successful completion of liver and kidney transplant surgeries in Kurnool city for the first time. The surgeries were performed by Gowri Gopal Hospital in collaboration with TX Hospitals and in coordination with Jeevandan Andhra Pradesh. He recalled that the hospital had previously played a pivotal role in introducing various new medical services to the region.

He claimed that access to complex organ transplant surgeries in Kurnool, which were previously accessible only in cities like Hyderabad, Delhi, and Bengaluru, would be beneficial for the people of the Rayalaseema region.
