Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka at a national conference on mobilising financial resources for India’s development journey, in New Delhi, on Saturday.

Telangana is prepared to play a pivotal role in achieving the nation’s Viksit Bharat 2047 vision and has set itself the ambitious target of becoming a $3 trillion economy by 2047, Deputy Chief Minister and Finance Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka said at a national conference on mobilising financial resources for India’s development journey.

Addressing the conference chaired by Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman in New Delhi on Saturday, Mr. Vikramarka said Telangana viewed the country’s long-term economic goals not as distant aspirations but as an immediate responsibility requiring concrete action. He stressed that achieving the Viksit Bharat goal would require close cooperation between the Centre and States, effective mobilisation of public and private resources, and strong institutions backed by sound policies.

The Deputy Chief Minister said Telangana’s economy had developed a strong foundation, with the State’s Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP) reaching ₹17.82 lakh crore in 2025-26, recording 10.7% growth at current prices and an estimated real growth rate of 8.5%. Telangana’s per capita income stood at ₹4.19 lakh, nearly double the national average, while the services and industrial sectors continued to register robust growth.

While Telangana’s economy is projected to touch $1.21 trillion by 2047 at the current growth rate, the State government has set a much higher target of $3 trillion and plans to raise Telangana’s share in the national economy from about 5% to 10%.

Mr. Vikramarka said the State was moving away from excessive dependence on government borrowings for infrastructure creation and was focusing on attracting greater investments from private investors, institutional funds and sovereign funds. Instruments such as public-private partnerships, green bonds and blended finance would play an important role in funding future growth, he said.

The Deputy Chief Minister outlined Telangana’s CURE-PURE-RARE development model aimed at ensuring balanced regional growth. While the Hyderabad-centric Core Urban Region (CURE) would focus on advanced services, artificial intelligence, fintech and life sciences, the Peri-Urban Region (PURE) would emerge as a manufacturing and industrial hub. The Rural Agricultural and Resource Economy (RARE) would strengthen agriculture through digital technologies, food-processing clusters and cold-chain infrastructure.

He also highlighted the proposed Bharat Future City, planned across more than 30,000 acres, as a net-zero, AI-enabled green megacity featuring world-class educational, research and technology institutions. The Regional Ring Road would serve as a key connectivity link across the State’s growth regions.

Emphasising that human capital would be central to Telangana’s growth ambitions, Mr.
