Toxic sparks CBFC debate over graphic violence after Annamalai criticism

The Central Board of Film Certification finds itself at the centre of a fresh debate after former BJP leader K Annamalai criticised the body for clearing a recent release despite its graphic violence and treatment of women.

While Annamalai did not directly name the film in question, a recent report indicates that his remarks have prompted the Prasoon Joshi-led board to reconsider how such content is assessed going forward.
