The Rotary Club of Chennai Crown, in partnership with Madras Photobloggers, is organising ‘Yaavarum 2026 ‘, a contest for the deaf and hard of hearing.
The contest aims to promote wildlife protection through nature conservation and encourage participants to explore, observe, and capture the beauty and importance of the natural world through their own lens.
Entries will be accepted till September 30. Each participant may submit up to three photographs, taken with either a mobile phone or a camera. However, AI-generated images will not be permitted.
Winners will be honoured during ‘Wildlife Week 2026’ in October. The winners will receive cash prizes, with the first prize carrying ₹5,000, followed by ₹3,000 for the second prize. Two runner-up prizes of ₹1,000 each will also be awarded. In addition, the top 10 photographs will be featured on Instagram.
The public is requested to share information about the contest with deaf and hard-of-hearing friends, communities, networks, colleges, and institutions for deaf students.
