8th Pay Commission Bengaluru meetings on 7-8 October: Deadlines, eligibility and key details

The 8th Pay Commission, headed by Justice Ranjana Prakash Desai, was constituted on 3 November 2025. On 3 September, the Commission will complete its 10-month tenure of the 18 months allocated to it and submit its final report with recommendations on salaries, allowances and pensions to the Union government.

Over the last few months, the 8th Pay Commission has met with stakeholders, pension bodies, and unions in Delhi, West Bengal, Ladakh and Uttar Pradesh to hear their grievances regarding payments, salaries and other work-related reforms.

The 8th Pay Commission will hold meetings in Bengaluru on 7 and 8 October, as per an official notification on its website. This will allow central government employees’ organizations, unions, associations and other stakeholders to put forward their concerns and suggestions before the Commission’s panel .

According to the detailed notice issued by the Ministry of Finance on 24 August, organizations and institutions interested in meeting with the 8th Pay Commission during its visit to Bengaluru may submit their appointment requests via the designated online portal. The link to submit the appointment request is also provided in the notice.

Note: For the official application link, visit the 8th Pay Commission website.

Stakeholders and employee unions seeking an interaction with the 8th Pay Commission must submit their requests by 18 September through the official channels. The application should also include the ‘Unique Memo ID’ generated after submission of the memorandum to the 8th Pay Commission.

The Commission will subsequently communicate the venue, timing and detailed schedule of the interactions to the relevant stakeholders . Organizations planning to participate are therefore required to complete the online appointment process within the stipulated deadline.

The upcoming Bengaluru consultations are critical because they will provide representative bodies with a direct platform to present their views to the Commission. Employee organizations can use the opportunity to highlight issues concerning pay , allowances, fitment factor , service conditions and other matters affecting central government personnel.

For eligible organizations and unions, the 7-8 October meetings offer a valuable opportunity to put their submissions on record and ensure that employee concerns are formally presented before the Commission .
