Telangana Skills University, Japan institute ink partnership

The Young India Skills University (YISU) is set to collaborate with the Hiroshima Institute of Technology (HIT) in Japan to provide Telangana youth with international exposure to technical education, industry-oriented training and employment opportunities.

Minister for Labour and Employment Gaddam Vivek Venkataswamy said an in-principle understanding had been reached between YISU and HIT during his visit to the Japanese institute on Friday as part of the Telangana delegation’s Japan tour.

The proposed partnership will focus on engineering education, student and faculty exchanges, training of trainers, short-term technical courses, research and industry-linked learning. The two institutions will initially identify areas of cooperation based on Telangana’s emerging industrial requirements and future employment opportunities.

Mr. Vivek said the proposed partnership would go beyond conventional academic exchanges and focus on skill development, employability, technology transfer and programmes that directly address industry requirements.

The Minister invited the HIT representatives to visit the Young India Skills University and also to participate in the Telangana Rising Global Summit–2026, scheduled to be held in Hyderabad in December.
