Lincoln's Crooked House was nearly demolished; hidden timber frame saved it

In the midst of a demolition in 1933, builders stumbled upon a remarkable 16th-century timber-framed structure known as the Wonky House.

This architectural gem narrowly evaded obliteration and has since undergone conservation efforts to rectify damage caused by death-watch beetles and previous poor repairs.

Thanks to significant funding, extensive restoration will soon provide unique holiday accommodations and community spaces, welcoming visitors to enjoy its rich history.
