‘My son rushed woman to hospital’: Andhra MP Lingamaneni Ramesh on Hyderabad Aston Martin crash

Andhra Pradesh Rajya Sabha MP and Jana Sena Party (JSP) leader Lingamaneni Ramesh reacted on Friday amid reports of his son's involvement in connection with the death of a 26-year-old woman in a Hyderabad road accident. The politician said that his 21-year-old son took the victim to hospital immediately and reported the incident to police.

Lingamaneni Sanjush, the MP's son, was booked after a woman died after being hit by a high-speed Aston Martin he was allegedly driving.

In a statement issued on Friday, Ramesh said, "It is deeply unfortunate and heartbreaking that the road accident which occurred in Hyderabad on 16th of August, 2026 and which led to the unfortunate loss of the young woman. I extend my heartfelt condolences to her family. No words can lessen their grief, and my family and I stand with them during this extremely painful time. We will extend every possible support to the bereaved family. I request you all not to speculate or prejudge the circumstances. The investigation must establish the complete facts."

Ramesh added that Sanjush was driving the vehicle when the accident occurred and immediately took the injured woman to a hospital.

“Immediately after the accident, my son, Sanjush, who was driving the vehicle, shifted the young woman to the hospital without any delay. He subsequently reported the accident to the police authorities and provided all the necessary details. A case was duly registered, and three separate medical tests were conducted on my son, which returned negative. The investigation is presently underway, and my son is fully co-operating with the authorities,” Ramesh was quoted as saying by news agency ANI.

The accident took place near Inorbit Mall in Hyderabad’s Madhapur area, where 26-year-old Bharati Mukhi, who worked at a store, was fatally hit by an Aston Martin on August 16. Police have named 21-year-old Sanjush as the accused and registered a case under Section 106(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita for allegedly causing death by a rash or negligent act.

The MP said his family had not attempted to avoid the legal process and maintained that nothing was being concealed in the matter.

"Nothing is being concealed in this matter, nor have we attempted to avoid the legal process in any way. We have the utmost respect for the law, and my son has complied with every procedure required by the authorities," the statement reads.

Ramesh also said he would extend his full cooperation to the police and the ongoing investigation.

Ramesh appealed to the public to respect the grief of the bereaved family and refrain from circulating false or unverified information about the accident.

It added, "As a person holding a responsible position, I assure everyone that I will extend my complete cooperation to the Police Department and the ongoing investigation. We have full faith that the truth will emerge through a fair and impartial legal process.
