Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar took part in a beach-cleaning activity under Swachh Sagar, Surakshit Sagar 5.0 on the occasion of the International Coastal Clean-up Day at the Marina on Saturday.

Mr. Arlekar flagged off the beach-cleaning activity on Saturday morning and removed litter from the sand. According to a release, he emphasised the importance of keeping beaches and coastal ecosystems clean, protecting marine life, and fostering a strong sense of environmental responsibility among citizens, particularly the youth.

He called upon everyone to contribute towards cleaner, greener, and healthier coastal environments and to make cleanliness and environmental protection a sustained collective movement. The Governor also interacted with volunteers and students during the beach-cleaning activity.
