The Madina circle branch of Hyderabad’s iconic Hotel Shadab was sealed by the Telangana Standards Authority for Food and Essential Drugs (TG SAFE) on Thursday, September 3, a day after the enforcement agency suspended the restaurant’s FSSAI licence.

The action followed inspections that found multiple violations of food safety and hygiene norms, including deficiencies in the storage and handling of meat and other food articles. TG SAFE had suspended Hotel Shadab’s FSSAI licence on Wednesday, September 2, after its inspection teams flagged the violations at the restaurant.

“The restaurant has been given seven days to rectify the food safety violations. Once the management has taken corrective measures, they can approach the TG SAFE Commissioner asking for a re-inspection. If the inspecting officer is satisfied with the compliance, then the license will be restored,” said Anand Rao, Deputy Food Controller, Food Safety Wing, TG-SAFE.

Mr. Rao added that if the violations are not rectified within the stipulated period, then the department will proceed with cancellation of the FSSAI licence.

However, if the violations are not rectified within the stipulated period, the department could proceed with cancellation of the licence.
