The Plus One higher secondary/vocational higher secondary improvement examinations in Keralam will be held from October 12 to 17.
The dates were announced in the wake of a government order on conducting the exams in October.
Earlier, the Plus One improvement exams were held around September-October period. However, the Left Democratic Front (LDF) government in 2023 took the decision to hold these along with the Plus Two examinations in March. It said that holding the exams a few months into the academic year led to loss of working days for Plus Two students since many schools conducted classes for almost a month to prepare students for the improvement exams.
However, Minister for General Education N. Samsudheen had received a number of petitions pointing out that conducting the Plus One improvement examinations along with the Plus Two examinations in March was putting students under a lot of stress. Following this, the Minister directed that the Plus One improvement examinations be held in October.
