The Cyberabad Municipal Corporation (CMC) removed 201 encroachments across 9.9 km of road stretches as part of its ‘Walk-Free’ drive conducted across 16 circles in its three zones on Saturday, September 19.

The drive was aimed at clearing identified encroachments from roads and pedestrian spaces to ensure unobstructed movement for pedestrians and other road users. CMC teams carried out enforcement activity across the Serilingampally, Kukatpally and Quthbullapur zones.

The Quthbullapur Zone recorded the highest number of removals, with 78 encroachments cleared. Gajularamaram accounted for 26 removals, followed by Jeedimetla with 15, Medchal and Chintal with 14 each, and Kompally with nine.

The Kukatpally Zone recorded 67 removals. Madhapur accounted for the highest number with 35 encroachments removed, followed by Kukatpally with 14, Moosapet with nine and Allwyn Colony with nine.

In the Serilingampally Zone, 56 encroachments were removed. The highest number of removals in the zone was recorded in Patancheru with 23, followed by Ameenpur with 15, Miyapur with 10 and Narsingi with eight.

CMC officials said field-level monitoring would continue on the cleared stretches to prevent the re-emergence of encroachments. Further action will be taken on identified stretches in accordance with the prescribed procedure, the civic body said.
