Six MLAs were absent at the District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee (DISHA) meeting held at Dindigul Collectorate on Thursday. The meeting was held to review the implementation of the Central and the State governments’ schemes.
The meeting was presided over by Dindigul MP R. Sachithanantham. Dindigul Collector Durgamoorthi, Nilakottai MLA R. Ayyanar, Mayor J. Ilamathi and others attended the meeting. However, the MLAs I. Periyasamy, Natham R. Viswanathan, R. Sakkarapani, I. P. Senthil Kumar, K. Ravimanoharan and T. Saminathan were absent.
The ongoing development works and the implementation of various schemes were discussed at the meeting. The officials from various departments presented reports regarding works completed, pending, and financial requirements. Mr. Sachithanantham instructed the officials to work together and ensure eligible beneficiaries received the benefits of the government schemes.
Mr. Sachithanantham distributed welfare assistance to the total tune of ₹10.18 lakh to the beneficiaries in the presence of the District Collector.
