Trump's green flag waving video at IndyCar race ridiculed online: ‘Has to be the most embarrassing way…’

President Donald Trump 's video of waving the green flag at the IndyCar race through the streets of Washington DC on Sunday has been mocked online. The race was held to celebrate the 250th birthday of the country.

Driver Kyle Kirkwood won the race and before it, the POTUS and his wife, Melania Trump , took a ceremonial lap of the 1.7-mile track in his presidential limousine. As they reached the finish line, the new Air Force One did a flyover above the capital. This marks the first time a professional road racing has been hosted in Washington DC.

The video was posted from the Rapid Response X page belonging to Trump's White House. “Medal of Honor recipients, Command Sgt. Maj. Matt Williams and Col. Paris Davis, delivered the green flag to President Trump — which he will wave to start this race,” they had noted.

However, the way Trump waved the flag as seen in alleged videos was ridiculed by many online. The clips were widely shared on social media platforms.

Several people shared videos of Trump waving the flag. “This has to be the most embarrassing way to wave a flag in have ever seen in my life. Also, considering he lost the war with Iran, it probably should be white,” one wrote.

Another added “Look at the way Donald Trump was waving the flag like that! He doesn’t know how to wave a flag!.” Yet another said “Trump can't wave a starting flag.......”. It appeared that Trump had to be shown how to wave the flag, as per one person who shared the clip. They expressed surprise that the president had to be told this.

Meanwhile, Colorado Senator John Hickenlooper also jumped in on the row and wrote on X “IndyCar races for him. High gas prices for you. President Trump is waving the green flag at his vain IndyCar Grand Prix because he’s already waved the white flag on lowering prices.”
