Ohio mother says son's body parts were removed as 'anatomical gifts' without her consent after death

Andrea Mauk says her 18-year-old son Damon’s eyes, skin, heart valves, ligaments and other tissues were recovered as “anatomical gifts” after his fatal Ohio crash, without her knowledge.

She was in Costa Rica when he died and says the hospital never contacted her.

Her grief has since become a campaign for stronger family consent and notification laws.
