Lukashenko congratulates Putin on successful election days — BelTA

MINSK, September 21. /TASS/. Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko, on behalf of the Belarusian people and himself, has congratulated his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin on the successful election days, the BelTA news agency reported, citing the Belarusian leader's press service.

"The unprecedented turnout of millions of voters and the constitutional majority in the State Duma secured by the United Russia party serve as a proper response to cynical attempts from the outside to discredit the campaign and sow discord within united Russian society," the message reads.

Lukashenko noted that the election results convincingly demonstrate the Russian people's commitment to the course charted by Putin for the stable development of Russia – a country confident in its own strength and open to partnership and cooperation.
