5.7-magnitude earthquake strikes Indonesia — statement

TOKYO, August 17. /TASS/. A 5.7-magnitude earthquake was recorded off the coast of Indonesia, the European Mediterranean Seismological Center reported.

According to its statement, the epicenter was located 175 kilometers east of the city of Labuan Bajo, home to about 188,000 people. The focus was at a depth of 36 kilometers.

There were no reports of casualties or damage. No tsunami warning was issued.
