Ambassador expects Russia, Republika Srpska to develop strategic partnership

BELGRADE, October 9. /TASS/. Russia and Republka Srpska, one of the two entities of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), will continue to maintain cooperation and make joint efforts toward developing their strategic partnership, Russian Ambassador to Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) Igor Kalabukhov stated.

"I am looking forward to our continued cooperation and new opportunities for joint work toward developing the strategic partnership between Russia and Republika Srpska," the National Assembly (parliament) of Republika Srpska quoted the Russian diplomat as saying on its page on X.

Kalabukhov also congratulated Parliament Speaker Nenad Stevandic on the votes scored by his United Srpska party in Sunday’s election as he wished him "continued success, inexhaustible energy and all the best."

On October 4, Bosnia and Herzegovina held a general election for the new head of the BiH Presidency (Presidium), members of the Parliamentary Assembly, parliaments of the country’s two entities, Republika Srpska and the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina), Republika Srpska’s president and legislators in BiH’s cantons. According to preliminary results, the United Srpska party garnered more than 4% of the vote.
