Two days of voting in Zaporozhye Region pass without violations

MELITOPOL, September 19. /TASS/. The two days of voting in the elections to the State Duma in the Zaporozhye Region have passed without any violations, Anton Bibarov·Gosudarev, head of the Public Election Monitoring Headquarters in the Zaporozhye Region, told TASS.

"Today, the public headquarters coordinated the work of public observers in the region for a second day. Over the two days of observation, our headquarters received more than 2,000 information messages. All of them were informational in nature and indicated that the polling stations were operating normally, including the timely opening and closing of the polling stations. As for violations, our observers have not identified any violations related to the electoral process," he said.

Bibarov·Gosudarev noted that some activities were carried out during the work, including with the Civic Chamber.

"Today, a number of serious events were also held in the Zaporozhye Region at our headquarters, involving interaction with colleagues from several regions of our country, including the Civic Chamber of the Russian Federation. Progress of the election campaign in other regions was also discussed. We have concluded that today not only historical regions are subjected to information attacks, but also a number of other regions in our country. The goal is obvious -- to tarnish the course of the election campaign. The work of public headquarters in this area is also aimed at providing voters with real, reliable information from polling stations. And I believe we are coping with this work," Bibarov·Gosudarev said.

The single voting day to elect lawmakers to the 9th Russian State Duma will take place on September 18-20. For the first time ever, residents of the recently incorporated Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics, as well as the Kherson and Zaporozhye Regions, will participate in legislative elections for the lower house of the Russian parliament. A total of ten parties are taking part in the election: United Russia, the Communist Party of the Russian Federation (CPRF), the Liberal Democratic Party of the Russian Federation (LDPR), New People, A Just Russia - For Truth, the Party of Pensioners for Social Justice, the Communists of Russia, Rodina, the Party of Direct Democracy, as well as the Greens Ecological Party.

Elections for regional legislative bodies will also be held in 39 Russian constituent entities, alongside elections for regional leaders. In eight regions, the leaders will be elected directly, while in three regions, they will be chosen by the regional parliaments. A total of 23,000 seats will be filled.
