Belogorsk - Khabarovsk interconnector 90% completed, Gazprom says

MOSCOW, September 24. /TASS/. Gazprom has already 90% completed construction of the Belogorsk - Khabarovsk gas pipeline to serve as an interconnector of the Power of Siberia and Sakhalin - Khabarovsk - Vladivostok pipelines, the Russian gas holding said.

"Gazprom is laying the Belogorsk - Khabarovsk gas pipeline to connect the Sakhalin - Khabarovsk - Vladivostok and the Power of Siberia [pipelines]. Construction readiness of the facility is over 90% at present; the service connection to the Sakhalin - Khabarovsk - Vladivostok [pipeline] was made," the company said.

The Power of Siberia is the largest gas transportation system in eastern Russia, with an export capacity of 38 billion cubic meters per year. The first pipeline supplies of Russian gas to China via the eastern route began in December 2019 under a 30-year contract signed in 2014 between Gazprom and China's CNPC. The total volume of supplies over the contract's duration will exceed 1 trillion cubic meters of gas, with the total contract value estimated at $400 billion.
