Ministry to showcase exhibition marking anniversary of Carl Faberge at forum in Moscow
MOSCOW, August 21. /TASS/. Russia’s Finance Ministry, together with the Foundation for the Development of Artistic Industry and Jewelry Art, will showcase the exhibition "The New Faberge: Dedicated to the 180th Anniversary of the Great Russian Jeweler Carl Faberge" at the Moscow Financial Forum on September 21, the ministry’s press service reported.
The exhibition at the Manege Central Exhibition Hall will feature authentic contemporary pieces crafted in the finest traditions of Russian jewelry art, alongside replicas of famous works by the House of Faberge. Participants will include Russian jewelry brands, graduates of the Karl Faberge College of Decorative and Applied Arts, and private collectors, according to the report.
One of the exhibition’s central historical highlights will be a modern replica of the silver-gilt finial for the State Banner of the Russian Empire (1896), which was originally crafted for the coronation of Nicholas II, the press service added.
"We have used the jewelry exhibition at the Moscow Financial Forum to showcase, among other things, the connection between eras for five years already. This time, we have turned to the legacy of Carl Faberge, who left behind not only famous masterpieces but also a vital working principle of bringing together diverse specialists around a complex artistic vision. This approach is also relevant for modern education. Together with government measures and initiatives by businesses and associations, it helps build a competitive jewelry industry in Russia," Deputy Finance Minister Alexey Moiseev said.
The Moscow Financial Forum is a professional platform where key issues regarding Russia’s financial and economic policy are addressed annually, and effective solutions are developed for the regulation of the Russian government’s financial and economic bloc.
