Trump orders triumphal arch converted into military complex

WASHINGTON, September 20. /TASS/. US President Donald Trump has approved plans to convert a triumphal arch planned for construction in Washington into an advanced military complex.

"I have agreed to convert the magnificent Triumphal Arch <...> into a top-grade Military Complex/Triumphal Arch <...> to house, store and have the rapid ability to use large numbers of drones, <...>, have and hold large quantities of sniper ammunition in storage," he wrote on his Truth Social page. Trump stressed that he made the decision "at the strong request of the United States Military, and for National Security purposes."

The US administration previously announced plans to build a 76-meter-tall triumphal arch in Washington near Arlington National Cemetery to mark the 250th anniversary of the signing of the US Declaration of Independence. Later, Interior Secretary Doug Burgum said construction of the project was expected to begin within two weeks. In his view, the arch will become one of the greatest works of American architecture.
