Diversification in energy sector to be discussed at EEF — official

MOSCOW, August 24. /TASS/. Diversification in the energy sector will be one of the key topics at the Eastern Economic Forum (EEF) that will take place in Vladivostok from September 1 to 4, Russian Deputy Prime Minister, Presidential Plenipotentiary in the Far Eastern Federal District Yury Trutnev told TASS.

"Particular attention will be paid to the modernization of production facilities, the development of unmanned systems, diversification in the energy sector, and new investment projects. We will separately discuss workforce training, the development of forecasting tools, and many other topics," he said.

Moreover, business dialogues with representatives from China, India, the UAE, Mongolia, Vietnam, and ASEAN countries are scheduled as part of the forum.

"Technological development, including the exchange of technologies with our partners, is a key topic of discussion. International cooperation is also traditionally on the agenda. Russia plays a crucial role in many global processes, so we will be discussing the new global architecture at the EEF," the official said.

Trutnev previously announced plans to sign over 380 deals worth 6.5 trillion rubles ($78 bln) at the Eastern Economic Forum in 2026.

The Eastern Economic Forum will be held September 1-4 in Vladivostok on the campus of the Far Eastern Federal University. The main theme of this year’s EEF is "The Far East: Development for the Benefit of People." The event is organized by the Roscongress Foundation with the support of the Russian government.
