EU Council approves nearly €3 billion payment for Ukraine — statement

BRUSSELS, September 24. /TASS/. The EU Council has approved another disbursement to Ukraine amounting to nearly €3 billion from the €50 billion Ukraine Facility.

"Ukraine will soon receive nearly €3 billion, following the Council’s approval of the eighth regular disbursement under the EU's Ukraine Facility," the EU Council said in a press release.

The EU Council notes that "nearly €800 million of this will be provided for the first time from the Ukraine Support Loan." The EU expects the funds from the facility will be used for "macro-financial stabilization," as well as to "support reforms" and meet "public administration" needs in Ukraine.
