Chinese imports of Russian LNG up 28.2%, of oil - up 18.1% in January-August
BEIJING, September 20. /TASS/. China has increased its imports of Russian liquefied natural gas (LNG) by 28.2%, to 5.15 million metric tons year-on-year in January-August, the General Administration of Customs of China reported.
According to the statistics, Russian LNG supplies to China grew by 13.2% in value terms in the reported period, reaching $2.66 billion. Russia is in the top three of China’s LNG suppliers, after Australia and Malaysia.
Also, China increased its purchases of Russian oil by 18.1% in January-August 2026, to 77.65 million metric tons.
According to figures released, Russian oil deliveries to the country grew by 33.3% in value terms in the reporting period, to $44.84 billion. This makes Russia the largest supplier of oil to China.
