Sky Sports agrees three-year US Open extension

Sky Sports agrees three-year extension to broadcast the US Open; 2026 competition reaches thrilling conclusion at Flushing Meadows this weekend; watch Aryna Sabalenka take on Elena Rybakina in the women's final on Saturday, followed by the men's final on Sunday

Sky has agreed a three-year extension to its US Open deal, ensuring Sky Sports and NOW remains the exclusive home of the tournament in the UK and Ireland until the end of 2030.

As part of the partnership with the United States Tennis Association (USTA), Sky Sports will retain exclusive live coverage of all men's and women's singles, doubles, mixed doubles, juniors and wheelchair competitions throughout the three-week tournament. The agreement was negotiated by the USTA's media rights partner, IMG.

Alongside broadcast rights, fans in the UK and Ireland will also be able to catch up on all the action with clips and highlights available across Sky's digital and social platforms.

This year's coverage has featured augmented reality graphics, enhanced data integrations, in-depth touchscreen analysis and behind-the-scenes content, bringing fans closer to the action than ever before.

Sky's tennis coverage is led by presenter Gigi Salmon and includes expert analysis from Tim Henman and Laura Robson, alongside additional talent and co-commentators at events throughout the season. Match commentary is provided by Jonathan Overend.

The announcement comes amid a drama-filled US Open featuring the shock first-round exit of 24-time Grand Slam champion Novak Djokovic and the latest finish in tournament history between Ben Shelton and Carlos Alcaraz as the American emerged victorious at 3.33am.

A thrilling women's final meanwhile awaits as World No 1 Aryna Sabalenka takes on World No 2 Elena Rybakina on Saturday.

Jonathan Licht, Chief Executive Officer Sky Sports UK & Ireland, said : "The US Open is one of the highlights of the sporting calendar, featuring the biggest names in both the men's and women's games, all set against the spectacular New York backdrop. We're delighted to extend our partnership with the USTA, reinforcing our shared commitment to embracing innovation, showcasing the best in the sport and delivering world-class coverage for viewers. This renewal further cements Sky Sports' position as the home of sport in the UK and Ireland, offering fans unrivalled breadth and value all year round."

Kirsten Corio, Chief Commercial Officer, USTA: "The US Open and Sky Sports have been trusted partners for many years, and we're excited to continue such a strong relationship with this renewal. Sky shares our commitment to delivering innovative and cutting-edge coverage to a great audience of tennis fans in the U.K. and Ireland, and we're confident that our continued partnership will have a direct impact on tennis' extraordinary growth and deepen fans' connection with the game."

Live tennis is available all year on Sky, including full coverage of the ATP and WTA Tours on Sky Sports or available to stream with NOW and the Sky Sports app.
