Leicester booed off after nightmare defeat to Burton

Report as Leicester lost 2-1 to Burton at the King Power Stadium; Russell Martin's side were booed off following the defeat; Oliver Skipp was sent off while the Foxes were 2-0 down

Burton Albion stunned Leicester City at the King Power Stadium, as the former Premier League champions were booed off after being beaten 2-1 by Gary Bowyer's side.

Matthew Dennis and Kgaogelo Chauke ensured Leicester's woeful start was punished before Russell Martin's men, who then saw Oliver Skipp receive a straight red card, finally showed some fight.

Only five minutes had passed when a move involving the excellent Charlie Webster ended with Kyran Lofthouse slipping the ball through to Dennis before he fired past Alex McCarthy. City fans were in uproar 20 minutes later after seeing Chauke react first when Lofthouse's shot was deflected into his path.

But when Skipp walked for a cynical foul on Curtis Tilt on the 29-minute mark, Wes Burn's first strike since joining from Ipswich - converting at the far post from Will Alves' cross - prevented the atmosphere from turning truly mutinous.

Harry Souttar headed over the bar and substitute Tommy Watson went close as City tried to mount a comeback.

Albion's defensive grit helped them overcome late pressure to claim a memorable victory.
