Add these music-based quiz games to your daily routine Originally started in 2018 by film and game composer Diwa de Leon, the ‘Video Game Music Box’ series now includes more than 50 albums of reworked gaming soundtracks including Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 , Genshin Impact , Deltarune, Undertale, Baldur’s Gate 3 , Skyrim , Minecraft , Hollow Knight , Sonic The Hedgehog , The Witcher 3 and more.

For the first time, the series is getting a vinyl release. ‘Best Of Video Game Music Box’ is available to pre-order now via Materia Records and “brings together a handpicked collection of beloved themes from across the world of video games, reimagining familiar compositions through the delicate and nostalgic sound of the music box into something intimate, reflective, and dreamlike.” The 1LP will cost you £23 and will ship later this year.

The complete ‘Best Of Video Game Music Box’ vinyl tracklist is as follows: Side A ‘Zelda’s Lullaby’ (from The Legend Of Zelda: A Link To The Past) ‘Luma’ (from Super Mario Galaxy) ‘Fallen Down’ (from Undertale) ‘Lavender Town’ (from Pokémon Red / Blue / Yellow) ‘Dearly Beloved’ (from Kingdom Hearts) ‘The Legend’ (from Deltarune) ‘The Great Fairy Fountain’ (from The Legend Of Zelda) Side B ‘Once Upon A Time‘ (from Undertale) ‘Empty Town’ (from Deltarune) ‘Shop’ (from Undertale) ‘Song of Storms’ (from The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time) ‘Undertale’ (from Undertale) ‘Treasured Memories’ (from Kingdom Hearts) ‘Megalovania’ (from Undertale) “Video Game Music Box began as an experiment,” said de Leon in a statement.

“There was no dedicated music box series of officially licensed video game music, and I wanted to see if I could fill that void.

Would anyone actually listen to this? I didn’t know.

“Taking full orchestrations, sweeping cinematic scores, extravagant big band masterpieces, and distilling them down to a two-part music box arrangement.

No padding, no embellishment.

Just the melody and its basic broken harmony,” they continued.

“Turns out people crave that simplicity.

Something about hearing a beloved theme reduced to its purest form hits differently: innocent, unguarded, and somehow more emotional for it.

This vinyl is the best of that experiment.” In other news, Nintendo Of America has used Pokémon Pokopia to tease a potential Pokémon Gold & Silver revival .
