Wembley fire latest: Huge plume of smoke over London as blaze near stadium and Ikea sparks rail chaos

Huge amounts of smoke can be seen near Wembley Stadium after a large fire broke out on an industrial estate.

London Fire Brigade (LFB) said 20 fire engines and around 125 firefighters are on the scene in Hannah Close in Neasden.

Residents in the immediate area are told to close doors and windows and stay inside where possible, due to the large amount of smoke. People have also been urged to avoid the area as crews respond to the blaze.

Tube services on the Metropolitan line are fully suspended, and there are “severe delays” on the Jubilee line between Willesden Green and Wembley Park.

LFB said there were more than 70 calls reporting the fire at 11.34am. Crews from Wembley, Park Royal, Willesden and surrounding fire stations rushed to the scene.

TfL said tickets will be accepted on London Buses, DLR, Elizabeth line, Mildmay line, c2c and Thameslink services.

The Metropolitan line has been fully suspended as fire crews respond to the blaze.

There are also “severe delays” on the Jubilee line, which is part suspended between Willesden Green and Wembley Park.
