New Lidl 'modern' home item looks similar to £99 Dunelm and £55 Argos out Sunday

A new piece of homeware furniture is set to land in Lidl stores this weekend, and it is not only described as "modern" but also shares a similar design with other high street versions. The budget supermarket updates its Middle Aisle with new Special Buy deals every Thursday and Sunday.

This Sunday, September 27, Lidl will be adding a new range of ' Home and Living ' items to shops across the UK. One item shoppers will be able to buy once it's out is the Livarno Wavy LED Floor Lamp for £24.99.

In the product description, Lidl says: " Modern design. Adjustable touch dimmer with memory function. Gentle, glare-free lighting. Warm white light. Total height: 148cm. Power cable: 1.8m. Base: 40 x 40cm. Matt nickel finish. Three-year warranty."

The floor lamp features a wave-inspired design, with LED bulbs going up the entire length of the structure. At a casual glance, the model looks nearly identical from across a room to Dunelm's Wave Modern LED Floor Lamp , which costs more at £99.

For those who like the look of Dunelm's version but want to spend as little as possible, Lidl's £24.99 option could be seen as a more affordable and budget-friendly alternative. Opting for the supermarket style would save customers around £74.

Both lamps command attention through a similar structural design concept: a single, continuous, vertical S-shaped ribbon that illuminates from top to bottom. Dunelm describes its £99 floor lamp as "stylish" with a "modern design".

In its product description, Dunelm says: "Sleek, sculptural, and full of character — the Wave Floor Lamp is a bold addition to any space. It's made from real wood, creating a striking silhouette that glows with a soft, warm white light. Offers a discreet in-line foot switch and a 2m black braided cable for easy placement."

However, a closer look quickly reveals two major visual dead giveaways. Lidl’s Livarno Wavy LED Floor Lamp targets tech-savvy decorators with a sleek, metallic build in a matt nickel finish, anchored by a prominent cross-shaped metal base. It stands 148 cm tall, producing a bright 1,200-lumen warm-white glow controlled by an adjustable touch dimmer with an integrated memory function.

In contrast, Dunelm's Wave Modern LED Floor Lamp leans into an organic Scandinavian aesthetic. Swapping metal for real wood, it creates a striking natural focal point with an earthy texture, resting on a flat, minimalist square plate. Dunelm's version offers soft, fixed warm lighting operated via a traditional in-line foot switch. It is down to shoppers to decide which material and price they prefer.

Lidl's £24.99 floor lamp could also be compared to Argos' £54.99 Homcom Dimmable Spiral Floor Lamp . They both share almost identical physical dimensions, metallic materials, and modern minimalist design cues.

However, they feature a key difference in how their light strips are twisted and how you control their lighting settings. Lidl's version has a vertical, flat S-shaped "wavy" ribbon that curves back and forth along a single plane.
