Spurned boy launches brutal knife attack on girl in Cirencester shop - horror footage
Shocking footage shows a 14-year-old boy repeatedly stabbing a teenage girl in a Cirencester shop after she rejected his advances.
The boy, who cannot be named due to his age, is seen wandering around a car park before entering the local store, where the girl was paying for a drink. Having entered the shop with both hands in his pockets, the boy then takes a knife out of his right pocket, stabbing the girl in the neck after grabbing her with force.
The 14-year-old also smashed the girl into a sweets rack twice during the terrifying attack, repeatedly stabbing her. The shopkeeper is then seen trying to intervene by grabbing the boy before he is stabbed in the back by the teenager.
The man fled the shop in horror, with the 14-year-old turning his attention back to the girl, who also managed to escape before she could be attacked again. The boy, wearing a light grey hoodie, jeans and a backpack, then leaves the shop, seemingly frustrated at his victim's escape as he slammed the door.
The incident took place at around 11.15am on March 15 this year after the girl rejected the teenager's advances in December 2025. Prior to the stabbing, he used fake social media accounts to message her.
Gloucestershire Police said the boy "had become obsessed" with the girl, who was also 14 and attended the same school as him. On the day of the attack, officers said the boy had been waiting for the girl near the shop on Upper Churnside, going in after seeing she was in there to buy a drink.
After she managed to escape, the girl raised the alarm at a neighbouring property. During the attack, the girl sustained cuts to her neck, hands and face and bruising to her back.
The shopkeeper sustained a cut to his back. The video also shows the boy running away from the shop but he was found close to the premises by the police. A knife was found in his jeans pocket by officers, who also noticed the 14-year-old had a fresh cut to his hand.
Yesterday, the Wiltshire boy appeared at Bristol Crown Court , which sat as a youth court, having pleaded guilty at an earlier hearing to wounding with intent, inflicting grievous bodily harm without intent, and possession of a bladed article in a public place. Yesterday, he was given a 12-month referral order and a three-year restraining order.
In a victim personal statement read to the court, the girl said she has been having nightmares ever since the incident and doesn't want to be outside on her own anymore. She said: "I'm scared and nervous anywhere that I go.
"Even if someone puts their hand up next to me I flinch as I don't know what they are about to do to me. I know this is as a result of the incident, as I wasn't like this before.
"I was in so much shock after it happened. I didn't leave the house for a couple of days. I never thought something like this would ever happen to me, or anyone I know at all.
"I've been having nightmares since; I relive the incident, but in these dreams it happens in different places. I sleep in the dark but when I wake, I constantly feel like there is a presence in the room. I can't stop thinking about it.
"This is going to affect my ability to trust people.
