Hideo Kojima wants to keep making new games as he gets older: “I constantly need to reassess how I use my time”

Gaming innovator Hideo Kojima turned 63 yesterday (August 24) and has taken to social media to reflect on getting older.

However his groundbreaking horror title OD doesn’t currently have a release date and Physint reportedly won’t launch until 2030 .

But it seems like he has plenty of other ideas too.

“I turned 63.

As I get older, the things I ‘have to do’ and the things I ‘want to do’ continue to increase,” he wrote on X.

“At the same time, the time I ‘have to do them’ continues to decrease.

I constantly need to reassess how I use my time and how I live my life.

That said, once you’ve taken something on, you can’t simply put it down and walk away.” He went on to say that 2026 marks his 40th anniversary in game creation as well as the ten-year anniversary of his own Kojima Productions studio.

“While I continue to receive various opportunities and offers, I would like to remain focused on creating games.

Thank you for your continued support,” he added.
