Last night (Tuesday September 22), Swift revealed on social media that she would be sharing a brand-new single called ‘Patient Zero’ this Friday (September 25).
Fans subsequently began speculating over whether the singer was gearing up to release her next album, or if the song was an extension of the ‘Showgirl’ era.
Now, Swift has confirmed that the new track will form part of ‘The Life Of A Showgirl: The Encore’, which is set to arrive in full this Friday, featuring three other new songs.

Others noticed that yesterday’s announcement included 12 exclamation marks, suggesting ‘Patient Zero’ would be a continuation of the ‘Showgirl’ cycle.
