Chelsea hopes of Alex Scott deal revealed as Bournemouth confirm transfer latest

Chelsea ’s hopes of signing Alex Scott have been hit, amid a fresh stance on transfers from Bournemouth .

Scott, who rejected a new contract offer at the Vitality Stadium earlier in the summer , has been a long time target for Chelsea, having seen a bid worth £64million rejected last month.

Standard Sport understands the Blues have identified Scott and Monaco's Lamine Camara as a possible replacement for Manchester City target Enzo Fernandez .

However, any hope of prizing Scott from the Cherries before the transfer window closes on Tuesday night have been dashed.

Speaking on Friday after Bournemouth discovered their opponents in the league phase of this season’s Europa League , president of football operations, Tiago Pinto revealed there will be no further business between now and Deadline Day.

He said: “I felt that I'm the most relaxed sporting director in Monaco.

This stance comes after Bournemouth manager Marco Rose was emphatic in his response regarding Scott's future.

He told reporters: “I’m sure [he’ll stay]. I’m not just quite sure, I’m sure. Forget 100 per cent, is there a 120%? That’s how sure I am.”

Staying put: Alex Scott Getty Meanwhile, Xabi Alonso has suggested that Fernandez has lost “the desire” to play for Chelsea after the midfielder missed the Carabao Cup win over Luton on Thursday night.

“I have said we need the players that are in the best situation to play,” Alonso explained, when asked about Fernandez.

“We need to take everything into consideration — players that are in a good moment, players that are not feeling that energy to play.

“For me, it is very important that they feel this desire to play and to have good preparation.”
