Gabriel Martinelli is poised to complete his move from Arsenal to Al-Hilal, with footage emerging of the winger in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
As reported by Standard Sport over the weekend, Arsenal have reached a full agreement for the sale of the Brazil international .
Martinelli did not feature in any of the Gunners’ matchday squads against Manchester City and Coventry, and was absent once again on Monday night as Bukayo Saka’s goal helped down Aston Villa at Villa Park .
The reason for the 25-year-old’s omission this time was that he was travelling to Saudi Arabia to finalise his transfer to Al-Hilal.
Martinelli has since arrived in Riyadh, with footage being shared across social media of the forward familiarising himself with his new surroundings.
Once the move is officially announced, Martinelli will become Arsenal’s record sale at £60million, eclipsing the £35m received from Liverpool for Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain in 2017.
On the talks Mikel Arteta has had with Martinelli over his future, he said: "There are those conversations and those conversations go both ways.
"I'm very satisfied with how these conversations went because I know what is in each other's hearts and the words that come through in that conversation made me really happy.
"But it's inevitable that at some point you need to have certain discussions and say certain things that sometimes are tough.
"I think everybody knows and recognises how much we love Gabi. Whatever the outcome is, it will be because everybody agrees to that."
Elsewhere on transfer Deadline Day , Arsenal have confirmed Ethan Nwaneri has joined Borussia Dortmund on a season-long loan deal , while Gabriel Jesus has left to join Barcelona in a deal that could reach £12.9million including add-ons.
In addition, Fabio Vieira has rejoined Hamburg, where he spent last season on loan, for £7.7m.
Standard Sport understands that Arsenal included sell-on clauses in both of the permanent transfers.
