Kim joins Rangers in £8.5m deal

South Korean international Minsu Kim has signed an initial four-year deal at Rangers with the option of a further 12 months; the winger scored six goals while on loan at Andorra in Spain's second-tier last season; the Scottish Premiership transfer window closes on September 3 at 5pm

Rangers have signed winger Minsu Kim in an £8.5m deal from Spanish side Girona.

The 20-year-old has put pen to paper on an initial four-year contract, with the option of a further 12 months.

Kim is Rangers' 12th summer signing, with striker Kevin Kelsy expected to follow after the Ibrox side agreed a £9.2m deal with his club, Portland Timbers , ahead of the transfer deadline on September 3.

As the South Korean international is not in Rangers' Conference League squad ahead of tonight's play-off second leg against Jablonec, he could make his debut at Aberdeen on Sunday, live on Sky Sports .

He joined Girona in 2022 and, after impressing with the B team, made his La Liga debut in October 2024, before featuring in the Champions League the following month.

Last season he scored six goals and provided four assists while on loan at La Liga 2 club Andorra.

Kim said: "I'm so happy to sign for Rangers. I know it's a big club with great, great fans.

"I want to help the team to be better every day, to be a good person, and to do everything I can to help the team win everything that comes our way.

"I have a lot of excitement and I believe I have the mentality of a winner. I want to face whatever comes next head-on and I'm going to give the club what it deserves."

Meanwhile, McInnes has confirmed Nicolas Raskin has not travelled to the Czech Republic for the club's Conference League play-off second leg due to growing transfer interest in the midfielder.

Sky Sports News reported on Monday that clubs from across Europe and England were keen on the Belgium international, having previously confirmed that the likes of Atalanta and Real Betis had shown interest earlier in the transfer window.
