Manchester United player ratings vs Fulham: Star man invisible as defender scores 4/10

Pressure piled on Michael Carrick as Manchester United ’s winless run extended to four games after a 1-1 draw at Fulham .

A comical Lisandro Martinez own goal was the Red Devils’ undoing at Craven Cottage, in a game that they ultimately deserved to lose, before Matheus Cunha’s deflected equaliser, whch cannoned in off the oh-so unlucky David Affengruber.

The visitors were second best throughout, with Alvaro Arbeloa just missing out on his first league victory in charge of the Cottagers.

Carrick’s men had their goalkeeper to thank on countless occasions, with Senne Lammens producing save after save to keep the scoreline respectable.

Josh King lit up the west London evening with a star showing, afforded far too much time and space to weave his magic and get the home fans off their seats.

United went close on numerous occasions, with Bruno Fernandes and Matheus Cunha both hitting the woodwork in the first half, while Lisandro Martinez forced a good save from Bernd Leno and Marcus Rashford ballooned over from close range to sum up a tough day in the capital for the Red Devils, who remain marooned in mid-table.

Kept the visitors in the game all too often. Produced brilliant saves to deny Josh King, Alex Iwobi and Oscar Bobb, but called into action far too much for the Red Devils’ liking. Could do nothing about the own goal.

Sloppy in possession, shaky in defence. Iwobi could sense the Portuguese’s nerves and tried to capitalise. Robinson’s aggressive overlaps caused him an additional headache.

Nowhere to be seen for Bassey’s burst and shot that Lammens spilled, and just too pedestrian in possession. Petrified of Gonzalo Garcia’s pace in behind.

Was having a similar game to Maguire until the own goal, which was unfortunate but ultimately summed United’s performance up. Calamitous.

Steady on the ball and more assured defensively than Patrick Dorgu at left-back, but too cautious in his attacking play until United were forced to spring into action upon falling behind.

Too many touches, no incision. Strange, since his £35million move was sanctioned to play those cute passes between the lines to find United’s exciting attacking quartet.

The same as his midfield partner. Overrun and overpowered by the physically imposing Sander Berge and Shea Charles in the engine room. His lack of defensive nous gave King a field day finding space between the lines to run the show.

Superbly marshalled by Antonee Robinson, who knew exactly what the Cameroonian wanted to do all game. Second to every 50-50, as the American nipped in ahead of him all too often.
