Transfer news LIVE: Man Utd green light, Minteh to Liverpool latest, Alvarez and Arsenal updates

With the final week of the window now underway, Premier League clubs are racing to complete their squads for the new season, which kicked off on Friday. Arsenal set the tone with a win over newly‑promoted Coventry City and have been equally active off the pitch.

The Gunners have wrapped up a deal for Ezri Konsa from Aston Villa and remain in the market for attacking reinforcements. Julian Alvarez is among the names linked with a move to the Emirates, though Barcelona is his preferred destination.

Liverpool, preparing to face Newcastle United at St James' Park, are pushing to sign Paris Saint‑Germain forward Bradley Barcola. However, PSG's £140million valuation is proving a major obstacle.

Manchester City are in talks to bring in Palmeiras winger Allan, while Savinho and Omar Marmoush could be heading to Tottenham Hotspur as negotiations continue. Spurs have already made seven signings this summer.

Meanwhile, Manchester United have agreed a deal for Brighton midfielder Carlos Baleba but are still searching for a new left‑back. Michael Carrick's side have reportedly contacted Barcelona to explore a move for Alejandro Balde.

In case you missed it, Ezri Konsa joined Arsenal this week, completing a £55m move from Aston Villa.

Sporting Director, Andrea Berta said: "We’re delighted to have completed the signing of Ezri Konsa. Ezri is a defender of high quality, whose athleticism, composure and tactical intelligence have established him as one of the Premier League’s most consistent performers.

"Being comfortable in both central defence and at right-back, Ezri will bring valuable versatility to our squad while maintaining the high defensive standards which are fundamental to our challenge of winning major trophies.

"We are welcoming a player with proven Premier League and international experience, and strong leadership qualities, who will adapt seamlessly to our style of play. Just as importantly, we are welcoming a player with the character and mentality to make an immediate impact within our club. We welcome Ezri and his family to Arsenal."

Konsa wasn’t available for Arsenal’s opening game against Coventry City but is expected to be in contention to face his former club on Monday, August 31.

Liverpool’s opening bid for Brighton winger Yankuba Minteh has been rejected.

The Athletic reports that it appears only a matter of time before he makes the move, with Brighton's stance suggesting the £50million offer isn't far from a figure they would eventually accept.

It looks increasingly likely that the club will secure a natural option for the right flank after all.
