Quiet Light signed to tastemaking label True Panther earlier this year, releasing the mixtape ‘Blue Angel Sparkling Silver 2’.

In her Cover story, Mahesh spoke to NME about her longtime passion for music turning into a burgeoning career – and how she’s balancing it with a job in medicine.

“I’ve been trying to be as zen as possible about it and take things day by day,” she said.

“I’ve made music my whole life, and I’m never going to stop.

Whether or not it pays the bills, it’s always going to be the most constant thing in my life.” Quiet Light also spoke to NME about the artists who’ve inspired her.

“People maybe underestimate the impact Clairo has had on self-produced female musicians,” she said.

“I remember being 19, listening to ‘Immunity’, and thinking I could probably teach myself to do this too.” She also spoke highly of Rodrigo, whose all-women festival Daisy Chain Fields will fundraise for charities supporting women and girls.

“I think she’s an amazing role model for young women,” Quiet Light said.
