'Injustice': Lisandro Martinez reacts to 'unacceptable' mistake as Manchester United beaten in derby

Controversy in the Manchester derby Sky Sports Tashan Deniran-Alleyne 2 minutes ago COMMENTS Lisandro Martinez has hit out at the decision to allow Erling Haaland ’s goal to stand in the Manchester derby, labelling it an “injustice”.

Manchester United were beaten by Manchester City on Sunday afternoon, despite playing for more than an hour at Old Trafford with an extra player after Phil Foden was sent-off for kicking out at Bruno Fernandes .

However, the other main subject of debate is the decision to award Haaland's winner just after the hour mark .

The goal was initially disallowed for offside against the Man City striker, though VAR intervened to overturn call, which has since prompted anger and confusion from fans and pundits alike .

Martinez was the Man United player involved in the controversy as the ball missed him in the box, leaving Haaland free at the back post for a tap-in.

Replays showed the Argentine’s line of vision was impacted by Enzo Fernandez - in an offside position - diving for the ball and the central defender has said the decision to allow the goal is “unacceptable”.

Controversy in the Manchester derby Sky Sports "I want to be calm but it is so hard. Every season the officials come to our club and spend an hour explaining the rules and they look so confident with that.

"Then after, five or six people (officials) doing this kind of mistake in the Premier League is unacceptable.
