Mikaela Mayer and Chantelle Cameron had to be split by security as an amicable build-up erupted into a surprise war of words at Friday's fiery final weigh-in.

The two rivals locked foreheads in the middle of the stage before a fired-up Cameron vowed to "smash her head in" ahead of Saturday's blockbuster super-welterweight world title fight in Birmingham.

American Mayer (22-2, 5 KOs), the WBA and WBC belt-holder, came in at 148lbs and three pounds lighter than her last fight against Mary Spencer back in October 2025.

WBO champion Cameron (22-1, 8 KOs) followed in at 147.6lbs for what will mark her second contest at super-welterweight after April's victory over Michaela Kotaskova.

It beckons as one of the most high-profile fights in women's boxing, Mayer having reigned as a three-weight world champion and two-weight world champion Cameron the only woman to beat Katie Taylor in the Irish icon's professional career.
