They were set to perform at Philadelphia’s Filmore on June 7, until McCulloch’s vehicle was involved in a “road traffic incident”.

While a statement described his injuries as “not believed to be serious”, it stressed that the singer was left “understandably shaken by the incident”.

McCulloch had recovered enough to play a huge homecoming show at Anfield Stadium in Liverpool as special guests of My Chemical Romance by the end of June.

Previous to that, Courtney Love had said at the end of 2024 that she was working with Echo’s Will Sargent on her new solo album – but not the “rude” PJ Harvey .

NME gave Echo’s last album ‘Meteorites’ a three-star review in 2014.
