READ MORE: Poppy is everywhere, yet constantly nowhere: “The discontent drives the exploration, and I feel like that’s all I have” Poppy Secret Run is an “interactive musical journey” that takes place on hugely-popular online video game world of Fortnite .
According to a press release, Poppy Secret Run transports fans inside Poppy’s world and allows them to experience a performance of ‘Empty Hands’-cut ‘Time Will Tell’ in “an entirely new” way with “exclusive content” available to unlock throughout the experience.
The game is playable solo or in groups of four, and a concert-only version of Poppy Secret Run is also available, for those who aren’t interested in the game.
In the Poppy Fortnite experience, players “move through and interact with the world, ultimately choosing between two paths: the Light or the Dark.
Every decision throughout the experience helps determine where they end up.
The world centers on a surreal universe of clocks, with two versions of Poppy guiding players through the experience, alongside her real-life sphynx cat, Pi.
As players make choices, the world responds and reveals a distinct path.” Poppy teamed up with French studio SoWhen? for the immersive experience, and visited their Paris base to perform ‘Time Till Live’ live, which laid the foundations for Poppy Secret Run .
“Her stage presence was kept intact and infused into her in-game character.
Poppy’s movements, face, and lips were captured free of suits and trackers using markerless motion capture and OptiTrack technology.
The ‘Time Will Tell’ audio was then carefully linked to gameplay.
Every rise, flip, and collapse lands on the beat,” says a press release.
Poppy Secret Run goes live next week (Friday October 23) and will be available until November 23.
