‘Fast Car’ Producer David Kershenbaum Sells Music Rights to HarbourView
HarbourView Equity Partners has signed a partnership deal with Grammy-nominated producer David Kershenbaum , through which the company acquired his interest in producer royalties and related rights across master recordings including hits such as Tracy Chapman’s “Fast Car,” Joe Jackson’s “Steppin’ Out” and Marc Cohn’s “Walking in Memphis.” The deal additionally includes tracks such as Chapman’s “Baby Can I Hold You,” “Talking’ Bout a Revolution,” “She’s Got Her Ticket” and “Crossroads”; Jackson’s “Is She Really Going Out With Him” and “Breaking Us in Two”; and Gallagher & Lyle’s “I Wanna Stay With You.” Notably, Chapman’s “Fast Car” received a renewed burst of attention in 2023 after Luke Combs’ cover of the song reached No.
