White House Faces Plagiarism Claims Over Trump IndyCar Race Promo

Elizabeth Frantz / REUTERS The Trump administration is being accused online of plagiarizing promotional materials for the president’s IndyCar race.

The White House shared several graphics on social media for the Trump administration-sponsored Freedom 250 Grand Prix this weekend, but many internet users pointed out their striking similarities to promotional materials for other major races.

“Huh, I thought that looked familiar...” one X user wrote , pairing a White House graphic with a nearly identical one for the Rolex 24 at Daytona race from January.

Another user replied with two more examples of the White House’s apparent AI plagiarism, saying, “I’m crying there’s not a single original idea in that marketing team.” One example showed that the White House’s image blatantly copying a graphic for the Singapore Grand Prix—down to the exact text.

Another pic ripped off a classic poster for the 1935 Monaco Grand Prix.

“The White House just straight up ripped off Formula 1 for their promotional material for the Indy race in DC,” another person wrote.

“Who does that?” Even more egregious was the White House’s MAGA version of Disney’s Cars movie poster, with the change being Lightning McQueen decked out in stars and stripes.

Trump’s strange fascination with the fictional talking car, voiced by Owen Wilson, was first became apparent last month, when he shared a hype video of himself set to a monologue from the 2006 animated children’s movie.

The Daily Beast has reached out to the White House for comment.

The Trump administration has made AI slop a major part of its brand throughout the president’s second term.

Trump, 80, posts self-aggrandizing AI-generated images on his social media platform, Truth Social, nearly every day.

Among the most bizarre AI creations the president has shared are photos of him with past presidents , dead war generals , and his infamous image depicting himself as Jesus Christ .

The latter post, from April, stirred up a major controversy online, but Trump defended it by saying he was being portrayed as a “ doctor .” Trump arrived at his big race on Sunday with both his wife, first lady Melania Trump, and his fawning aide, Natalie Harp.

The 35-year-old Harp, who makes $150,000 as Trump’s executive assistant, was seen chatting with the president’s son, Eric Trump, at Sunday’s event.
