NFL defensive back Sam Webb appeared to hang up his cleats after playing one preseason game with the New York Giants this season.
The Giants placed Webb on the Reserve/Retired List on Sunday, one day after New York lost to the Minnesota Vikings .
The Giants signed Webb on Thursday, and he only had one practice with the team going into the preseason affair.

He joined the Las Vegas Raiders in 2022, playing in 17 games for them and recording 36 tackles with three pass break-ups.
He had a stint with the Carolina Panthers in 2023 before re-joining the Raiders in 2024.
In his second stint in Las Vegas, Webb played in 11 games and had one tackle.
He found himself with the Cleveland Browns in 2025.
He played in seven games, had eight tackles and returned a fumble for a touchdown.
