In an interview with the Ruthless Podcast, Scott Brown, former U.S.

Senator and current Senate candidate in New Hampshire, commended Indiana Fever shooting guard Sophie Cunningham for her advocacy on behalf of women’s sports.

"I don’t miss a game when the [Indiana] Fever [are] playing," Brown said in an interview released Friday morning.

"Sophie Cunningham had the guts to get up and challenge this crazy ideology and put up with that crap." Cunningham made news earlier this summer when she said that female athletes shouldn’t have to compete against biological men.

SEN RON JOHNSON DETAILS SENATE FILIBUSTER STRATEGY ON ‘RUTHLESS' Brown is no newcomer to the women’s sports debate.

His daughter, Ayla, was a basketball player at Boston College .

"My daughter committed to Boston College at 15," Brown, who served as ambassador to New Zealand during President Donald Trump's first term, said.

"[She was a] Gatorade Player of the Year, two years in a row, 2,358 points in high school.

And they had men, practice players, coming in and trying to make them better because they were bigger and stronger.

To think one of them was going to take my baby's job." Earlier this month, Brown criticized the Women’s National Basketball Association (WNBA) in an opinion piece in the Union Leader over its policies regarding transgender athletes.

"It's hypocritical," Brown said of the league to the Fellas in the interview.

"It's a no-brainer.
